LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Louisville Metro Police arrested James McGuffin and say inside his home there were thousands of dollars of stolen equipment.
A standoff ended peacefully after McGuffin and a woman who neighbors and family members identified as his girlfriend wouldn't come out of a home for hours.
Police waited for a search warrant before they went into the home to get them.
The woman was not charged but is being questioned.
Two police wreckers hauled some equipment away from the home. Police were taking inventory of the items inside, but a spokesperson said included was equipment from a theft at North Oldham High School nearly 20 miles away.
School employees reported band and lawn equipment, other vehicles and items, as well as a 16-foot trailer stolen when they arrived Monday morning.
Items from other burglaries could be in the Portland home but that's unknown until inventory is taken.
McGuffin is charged with receiving stolen property over $10,000.
