Police looking to identify man accused of breaking into vehicles

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Louisville Metro Police Department is trying to identify a suspect that is accused of smashing windows out of vehicles and stealing the contents.

Police said he then takes the credit cards to various locations in Louisville and to Indiana and makes fraudulent transactions.

According to LMPD, he is involved in dozens of recent vehicle break-ins in the Lyndon area that include: A.B. Sawyer Park, the Lyndon baseball fields, the Northeast YMCA, E.P. Tom Sawyer Park. He is also a suspect in more theft cases in multiple police divisions, according to LMPD.

Police said the suspect is a white male, twenties to thirties, 5’10” to 6’ tall, weighing 190 to 210. LMPD said the suspect has a tattoo on his left forearm and was seen driving a black Dodge Durango, possibly a 1999 model.

Police said a woman is believed to accompany the person of interest wanted for fraudulent credit card use and vehicle break-ins in the east end.
