(WHAS11) - Police credit a quick thinking witness with helping them catch a robbery suspect.
Police say Kevin Ruffin, 40, approached a woman at Magnolia and 4th Street while riding a bike and grabbed her purse. Police say the woman fell head first onto the pavement.
Another nearby witness chased Ruffin to 9th Street, called 911, and stayed on the phone with dispatch until police arrived.
Kevin Ruffin, 40, is charged with one count of robbery.
Police say the victim suffered a head contusion and a bruised knee.
