(WHAS11) -- LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Police say they've arrested a woman responsible for more than a dozen burglaries in the Highlands. Police say this suspect did bizarre things during the crimes, even showering in one of the homes.
“She came in through our sliding door in the back, apparently got it off the track, then smashed the dead bolt to get out,” said Kendall Diebold.
Each offense, though close in vicinity, was different in nature.
WHAS 11's Karma Dickerson was one of the victims.
“There was no forced entry; there was nothing disturbed. There were a couple little irregularities but nothing that made you think I got broken into,” said Dickerson.
Police say 31-year-old Virginia McFadden made off with an array of items.
“She took my computer, my sister’s computer, our backpacks, painkillers,” said Diebold.
“Large flat screen television, took a lot of jewelry that was pretty priceless in terms of sentimental jewelry,” said victim Jessica Grace.
“Ipod, GPS watch, Ipad, old cell phones, they basically cleared me out of just everything, clothes, shoes, makeup, just gone,” said Dickerson.
From May until just a few days ago, police say McFadden looted apartments and exhibited bizarre behavior. She used the restroom, did laundry, even took a shower, while committing a crime,
“Anger is always the first thought you have, but it’s unbelievable,” said Grace.
“I wish I had prepared myself more for something like this happening,” said Dickerson.
But now, McFadden is behind bars after being pulled for speeding last night. She was identified as the burglary suspect, and then admitted to the crimes.
