LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- LMPD’s meth team busted two meth labs within hours of each other Wednesday evening.
The first happened at about 6 p.m. at the Cardinal Mobile Home Park on the 7800 block of St. Andrews Church Rd. Police say two men were arrested.
Hours later LMPD’s meth team was called out to investigate the remnants of a meth lab in a Jeffersontown hotel room. Jeffersontown Police had been responding to a complaint at the Extended Stay America hotel. A man and a woman were arrested, and a child they had with them was taken to the hospital.
LMPD meth team commander, Lt. Rich Pearson says his squad has busted about 90 meth labs in 2012 and tells WHAS11 they are on track for a record number of busts this year. He expects activity to pick up during the next two months as meth manufacturers try to make extra money for the holidays.
