LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville teenager was arrested on his nineteenth birthday for a shooting that occurred in November.
Police say Toreze Bland got into an altercation with several males on the basketball court inside the Parkland Boys & Girls Club hours before the shooting .
According to arrest documents, Bland was arrested Monday at a residence in the 2200 block of Crums Lane. Police say he is the suspect wanted for the November 13 shooting of James Dawson and Jordan Hamby.
Dawson was shot in the leg and Hamby was shot in the foot. A third victim at the scene was not struck by a bullet. Police say Bland tried to shoot Dawson after he fell to the ground at close range, but the gun would not fire and Bland then ran from the scene.
The shooting occurred in the 1000 block of 32nd Street in Louisville, which is down the street from the deadly shootings in May that killed three people, including Bland’s own brother, 22-year-old Craig Bland.
All victims were taken to University of Louisville hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Bland is now facing assault, wanton endangerment and attempted murder charges.
