LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A man is arrested, accused of snatching a woman who was getting ready to go shopping at a Family Dollar store.

It happened at the 4th and Winkler location on April 2.

According to a police report, Gary G. Earkman, 34, ran up to a woman as she was getting ready to enter the store, placed his hands around her throat, then dragged her to a nearby house in the 2700 block of S. 4th Street.

Earkman stole $200 and the victim's car, according to the report.

The woman escaped and ran to the Family Dollar where she called police.

Earkman was arrested after police pulled him over in the victims car at 22nd and W. Kentucky.

Investigators believe Earkman and the victim know each other through a mutual friend.

Earkman is charged with robbery and kidnapping.
