LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville man was arrested at his home Wednesday in connection with a theft earlier this month.

According to court records, a warrant was issued for 42-year-old Ronnie Lee Lawson after he was named as the suspect accused of stealing from the Antique Market at Distillery Commons.

Police said Lawson entered the business, picked up more than $1,000 worth of merchandise and walked out of the store without paying for the items.

Lawson was arrested less than an hour after leaving the store, police said, on a theft of mail matter charge and was in possession of the stolen property during that arrest. Police said he admitted to taking the property during an interview.

The theft of mail matter charge was dropped and a warrant was issued for Lawson's arrest on theft by unlawful taking. Lawson was arrested on the warrant is awaiting a court date.

Police said he did return all of the merchandise to the victim.
