Police: Man arrested after traffic stop leads to discovery of cash, drugs

Perez Domingo is charged with possession of marijuana, two counts of trafficking in controlled substance in the first degree, trafficking in controlled substance in the third degree, failure to wear seat belt, rear license not illuminated, no registration plates and failure of owner to maintain required insurance.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Police arrested 36-year-old Mario Perez Domingo after a traffic stop in the 4410 block of Dixie Highway revealed he had large amount of cash, marijuana and bottles of various pills in his car on Dec. 10.

Police said an officer observed Perez Domingo traveling northbound on Dixie Highway and was driving without his license plate illuminated and wasn’t wearing a seat belt. Police also said his license plate was canceled by the Department of Transportation.

According to the police report Perez Domingo admitted he didn’t have insurance and that he had a bag of marijuana in his pocket.

Police said after Perez Domingo gave police consent to search his car and himself they found $1,915, marijuana, oxycodone, hydrocodone, alprazolam and morphine.

Perez Domingo gave police consent to look through his cell phone and police say there were numerous messages discussing the buying and selling of narcotics.
