LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A man, 25-year-old Kevin P. Skaggs Jr., was arrested on Dec. 9 after police say he stole wiring from a sports complex he had previously worked at.

Police say Skaggs entered an out-building belonging to the Kentuckiana Sports Complex on Dec. 7 in the  1300 block of East Orell Road by cutting a padlock and then, once inside, cutting the lock on an electrical box inside.

According to the police report a witness said he noticed Skaggs leaving the complex with wiring in his right hand. The witness also told police he saw Skaggs, who lives across the street from the complex, sitting on the front porch, handling the wire.

Police were in the area when the robbery occurred and arrived at the scene quickly, according to the police report. Police said Skaggs fled the scene when they arrived.

Police say Skaggs had previously worked for the Kentuckiana Sports Complex doing cleanup work for them.

Skaggs is charged with burglary in the third degree.
