LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A Fort Knox woman was arrested on Saturday after officers responded to a call at the Circle K on Dixie Highway.
According to a police report, Melissa Bahmandeji, 33, was reportedly falling asleep while standing inside of the convenient store, located at 9200 Dixie Highway.
When officers arrived, according to the police report, they observed the subject sleeping while standing in front of a Polar Pop machine. Officers woke the subject and continued to retrieve a suboxon in an improper container from Bahmandeji's purse and a spoon with heroin residue from a restroom the subject had reportedly just exited.
Officers observed Bahmandeji’s two children walking around the store, without supervision, according to the report. Once the subject was inside the police car she willingly gave the officers two hypodermic needles, one loaded with suspected heroin, according to the report.
Officers arrested Bahmandeji just before 9 p.m., according to the report, she was lodged in the Jefferson County jail and charged with public intoxication of a controlled substance, 1st degree possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a minor.
