LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A Louisville father is facing charges after police said he left his young child locked in a hot car with the windows up at Baptist Hospital East.
Richard Gramlich, 49, was arrested around 5:30 Tuesday evening.
Police said Gramlich told officers that he was punishing the 5-year-old child for not wearing his seat belt and that the child had been in the car for about 45 minutes.
The temperature in the car at the time was about 101 degrees.
Gramlich faces several charges including endangering the welfare of a minor.
