LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville man's fate will soon be sealed.

A jury on Thursday, May 16, recommended Steven Pettway to be sentenced to 55 years in prison.

He was convicted of killing Troya Sheckles in a crowded park back in 2009.

On Thursday Pettway's older brother asked for leniency during the sentencing phase saying they had a troubled childhood.
