LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Jeffersontown Police arrested James Mason Thursday; six months after an investigation began into allegations of his possession of child pornography on his personal computer. Forensic evidence was just returned to detectives who made the arrest at the police department.
Mason is a former PRP Fire Department captain. He resigned two days after the department was alerted to the investigation and places him on administrative leave.
The computer was allegedly found damaged in the dumpster of the fire department after a family member of Mason's alerted police about the images. That family member apparently stumbled onto the photos while looking for other photos on the computer.
The images and video contained sexually explicit images of underage girls, according to police.
