Woman charged with endangering minor, other drug charges after traffic stop

Nora McCarthy is charged with possessing a controlled substance, possessing drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence and endangering the welfare of a minor.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Police say a traffic stop led to the arrest of 32-year-old Nora McCarthy being charged with numerous drug related charges.

Police said they stopped a vehicle on West Broadway, on Jan. 4., and arrested McCarthy on a warrant.

According to police McCarthy was warned several times about bringing contraband into jail, but she told police she didn’t have any illegal contraband. During booking McCarthy confessed to having contraband in her pants, police said.

According to the police report McCarthy was in possession of suspected heroin, three needles, a spoon and a strap.

Police said when they made the traffic stop there was a 4-year-old present. The son’s father, Paul Sayler, who was driving at the time, told officers they had just purchased the drugs.

McCarthy is charged with possessing a controlled substance, possessing drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence and endangering the welfare of a minor.
