(WHAS11) -- A plea deal is on the table for the man charged with killing a Sullivan University student.
A status conference was held for Gregory O’Bryan Monday morning. It came after the Jefferson County Commonwealth Attorney's Office offered him a plea deal that would put him in prison for 40 years.
O’Bryan is charged with murdering Andrew Compton in 2010. He admitted to hiding the body but it was never found.
A trial date is set for July 9.
