LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The murder charges against two men accused of killing a witness in another murder case may be dropped.
Steven Pettway and Dejuan Hammond's attorney said he has new compelling evidence that could dismiss their case. The attorney said he will ask the judge to dismiss the charges on the grounds of prosecutorial misconduct
Pettway is charged with the murder in connection with the shooting death of Troya Scheckles in 2009. He's accused of murdering her at the request of Hammond, who is also charged with murder.
Sheckles was set to testify against Hammond's brother, Lloyd, in the murder of her boyfriend in 2006.
