LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Jonathan Short pleaded guilty to charges of pretending to be an officer of the United States, wire fraud, making false statements and entering government property under false pretenses.

Short has no record of serving in the armed forces.

He has admitted to pretending to be a soldier to solicit money from a woman he met online. He also admitted he claimed to be a highly decorated soldier who had been on many deployments and had received many medals of honor.

Short is expected to be sentenced in September.
