LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The man police said was shot by a former Louisville Metro Police detective is behind bars.
Ishmael Gough was arrested on theft charges and is due in court Thursday morning.
Gough is the victim in a high-profile case involving Chancey Carthan, a former LMPD officer who allegedly shot Gough while he was still on the force.
The shooting incident happened in September 2012. Gough said the off-duty narcotics detective Carthan was following him for several blocks in his car. Both men got out of their cars, Gough said, and Carthan already had his gun drawn. Gough was shot in the leg.
Police later said Carthan was drinking that night. Carthan was place on administrative duty at the time of the incident, but later resigned.
