LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- It’s the punch caught on camera and the one who appears to be swinging a fist is a Louisville Metro Police officer.
That officer is under investigation and the person he hit wants some answers.
“At the end of the day it’s just not right. Right is right and wrong is wrong,” Richard Graham said.
In the video you can see the Louisville Metro Police officer come towards Richard Graham.
Graham yells something to the officer and then you see what appears to be the officer punching Graham in the head.
“I was in disbelief. I was like ‘wow an officer just punched me in the face’ like a normal person on the streets he wasn't helping the problem he was promoting it,” Graham said.
Graham filed a complaint with Louisville Metro Police about the incident.
Police confirmed they are investigating the matter but wouldn't name the officer and wouldn't go on camera for this story.
“The video really speaks for itself you see it his hands are down by his side. You can't see what is being said. His arms are down and then he is struck in the head,” Pat McElhone, Graham’s attorney, said.
Graham said he can't remember what he said to the officer but says he didn't threaten him in any way.
Graham said he suffered a concussion.
At this time it's unclear if the officer was there working security or was called to the scene when the fight broke out.
Graham said he was never taken into custody after the incident and has no history with the officer.
Graham has not filed a lawsuit. His attorney says they are waiting for the police investigation to play out before deciding their next course of action.
