LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)-- One of two men arrested for a possible dog fighting ring is speaking out about the charges against him.

Robert Dickerson said he is not running a dog fighting operation.

"[Police] didn't find anything, came up with some trump charges, put your dog up, I put em up," Dickerson said. "There were 5 dogs here, if it were a  dog fighting ring, why didn't take all 5, [they] only took 3 dogs."

Officers were investigating another call when they were led to a home at 21st and Rowan where they found several pit bills that were bleeding from the neck, along with blood in a hallway.

Dickerson said the blood was from his dog that was injured after it escaped from the yard.

He was released from jail after posting bond. Another man, Edward Bryant, is also charged with animal cruelty.

The three injured pit bulls are now at animal control.
