LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville man is facing charges after he was buying an item stolen from a neighbor.

According to a criminal complaint, 43-year-old John Meagher bought a "garden tub" from a tenant that was being evicted from the mobile home park where the both lived.

Officers said the tub was spotted by the owner, who also lives in the mobile home park, in Meagher's yard and that is when she called police. The report states Meagher knows the victim, and bought the tub from the man even though he knew it did not belong to the him.

Police said the seller admitted to a witness he sold the woman's tub to Meagher.

The tub was recovered and returned to its rightful owner.

Meahger is now charged with receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking.
