Louisville man facing abuse of corpse charge

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville man is facing charges after a body was found in an alley in the Highlands Neighborhood Sept. 10.

Thomas Bronnenburg, 46,  is accused of removing Christopher Pickerell's body from his Louisville home, placing the body in Pickerell's car and then abandoning the car in an alley off Bardstown Road.

According to an arrest report, Pickerell did not have his cell phone, wallet or car keys on his person when he was found. 

During their initial investigation police said they did not suspect foul play, but an autopsy is needed to determine the exact cause of death.

Bronnenburg is charged with tampering with physical evidence, abuse of a corpse and theft by unlawful taking.

The arrest report names a co-defendent in the case and we are working to find out more information.
