LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville father is facing endangerment charges after taking his son to the hospital.
According to the arrest report, 35-year-old Brian Mann forced his son to "take an unknown sleeping aid pill," and tried to make his daughter to take one as well, but she refused.
Police said Mann convinced his son to take the pill by telling him "it will make you feel happy."
After taking the pill, the report states the boy complained of shortness of breath and feeling sleepy. He was transported to Kosair Children's Hospital and Child Protective Services was called.
Police took Mann into custody after finding him "very intoxicated on an unknown substance laying on the landing of the basement steps." Officers offered medical care to Mann but said he refused.
Mann is charged with wanton endangerment and endangering the welfare of a minor.
