LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Breda Dillard has had to endure a lot as a mother. In 2010 she lost her son, Pernell, in a homicide that has remained unsolved. In addition to all that, her son's grave has been tampered with.

Dillard has laid flowers, candy and even Pernell's favorite cigars at his grave. Breda was troubled when she visited her son's resting place to find that the flowers and all other decorations and gifts were gone.

What makes this even more upsetting is that all other surrounding grave decorations are perfectly in tact. This leads Dillard to believe that her son's grave was targeted.

"I feel somebody came out here and took them and just threw them away or whatever" said Dillard, " Why would they do that? He's gone, he can't do no harm to nobody."

Dillard's son was murdered along with John Beamus near 28th street in 2010. LMPD has said they are continuing to follow up on leads in the case.
