LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Police in Lexington have charged a man in the stabbing death of his family's dog.
According to WLEX-TV, 21-year-old Kimanita Ishar Hale grabbed a 6-inch butcher knife during an argument with his mother and stabbed the dog several times, killing it.
Police arrived to find Hale holding the knife to his own throat, shouting, "Kill me."
Officers used a Taser, but Hale continued to resist until he was subdued and arrested.
He was charged with torture of a dog and resisting arrest.
