LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A man was hospitalized and a woman was arrested Tuesday after police said she hit him with her car.

According to a police report, 40-year-old Calandra Morton was arrested after she got into an argument with her ex-husband's new girlfriend.

Police said Morton followed the couple from a party to their home where she began arguing with the girlfriend from inside her car.

The girlfriend tried to walk away and that's when police said Morton tried to run her over. Trying to protect his girlfriend, police said the ex-husband jumped in front of the car and was struck.

The man was taken to University Hospital and is expected to be OK.
