LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Louisville Metro Police arrested a wanted person hiding in the trunk of a car after a traffic stop on Rockford Lane on Jan. 9.

According to a police report, a Louisville Metro Police officer received information that a wanted subject was driving a 1998 Toyota Camry on Rockford Lane. The officer located the Camry and pulled it over.

The officer ran the Camry’s VIN number and it came back as stolen. Police said Chelsea Borders, 21, was driving the Camry and gave consent to search the vehicle; police found a bent and burnt spoon and a wanted person, 32-year-old Amanda Whitaker, hiding in the trunk.

According to police Whitaker was wanted for the theft of the Camry.

Borders is charged with receiving stolen property, buying/possessing drug paraphernalia, obscuring the identity of a machine and hindering prosecution or apprehension. Whitaker is charged with theft by unlawful taking.
