LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville man is facing a long list of charges after police said he drove away when officers initiated a traffic stop Jan. 16.
According to court documents, 37-year-old Matthew Gregory Ray was traveling along Seneca Trail near S. 3rd Street police tried to pull him over. Police said Ray refused to stop his vehicle and turned onto S. 3rd Street.
Police said Ray then pulled into a driveway of a home in 6700 block of S. 3rd Street and continue to drive through the yard before crashing into a chain link fence.
Ray jumped from the car, police said, and ran toward Esplanade Avenue, leaving two co-defendants.
The co-defendants, Amber Lickliter and Andrew Sivado, identified Ray as the driver and police said Lickliter gave officers permission to search the car.
During their search, officers said the found a baggie containing individual bags of marijuana, heroin, methamphetamine and alprazolam pills.
Lickliter and Sivado were arrested at the scene and are facing drug charges.
A warrant was issued for Ray and he was taken into custody early Tuesday morning. He is charged with two counts of fleeing or evading police, four counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia.
