LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville man is facing charges after he was accused of a home invasion.

Fifty-one-year-old Dion L. Ross was arrested early Wednesday morning near the intersection of Beech Street and Southern Avenue.

Police said they were called out to the 900 block of S. 26th Street on an assault call. Witnesses told police Ross and another unidentified suspect were beating a man outside his residence. The victim somehow got away and went in to his home.

According to the police report, Ross followed the man, breaking through the front door and entered the home where he continued to assault him. Witnesses said Ross "used a chair and a lamp," to beat the victim.

Ross fled the scene before officers arrived, police said, but was later found and arrested.

Ross is charged with burglary and assault.
