LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A man is behind bars at Metro Corrections after he was accused of holding a knife to woman's throat.

According to a police report, officers were called out to a neighborhood dispute Wednesday and when the arrived at the scene a witness had 28-year-old Quar Tu pinned to the floor.

Police said Tu went to the apartment on Kingston Avenue where the victim lived and was upset about his vehicle. The victim told police Tu came into the apartment, threw her on the bed and used his forearm to hold her down while pressing a knife against here neck.

She said Tu then grabbed her by the neck with both hands and squeezed until she was nearly unconscious, telling her he was going to kill her and her child.

Two neighbors said they heard the fight and went into the apartment where they found Tu holding a knife. Police said one of the witnesses wrestled the knife away from Tu and held him down until officers arrived.

Police said the victim's child was in the home at the time of the incident but was not injured. The victim complained of neck pain, but refused medical treatment. Officers contacted the Center for Women and Families. 

Tu is charged with wanton endangerment and 4th degree assault.
