LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville man is charged with multiple felonies after police said he fled from authorities, leaving his 5-year-old son alone in a yard.

Eddie Mondane is charged with wanton endangerment, drug trafficking and fleeing police.

According to court documents, Mondane took off running when he was approached by officers that wanted to talk to him about case under investigation. Officers said Mondane left his young son standing alone in the front yard when he took off.

LMPD officers then searched Mondane's house and found 2.4 grams of cocaine that was apparently packaged to sell, along with drug paraphernalia.

The child was turned over to his mother after the incident.
