LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Louisville Metro Police have made an arrest in a shooting on Monday evening, March 10, which left one man injured.
Police arrested 22-year-old Brandon Parker after he led an officer on a foot pursuit.
Police say the shooting happened in the 400 block of Heywood Avenue just after 6 p.m. when they found a man shot multiple times.
When police caught up to Parker, they say he fled and led them on a foot pursuit. Police said Parker had also thrown a bag of heroin on the ground during the chase. According to the police report, Parker continued to run across major roads and the officer was almost struck by a vehicle on Taylor Boulevard.
Parker ran into a house unrelated to the crime in the 1300 block of Lillian Avenue.
According to the report, police called for Parker to come out of the home and when he didn’t respond, they sent a K-9 in resulting in the suspect being bitten.
The victim and Parker were transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Parker is charged with burglary in the second degree, trespassing in the first degree, fleeing police in the first degree and tampering with physical evidence.
