LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville woman is facing drug charges after police said she tried to sneak drugs into jail.
Louisville Metro Corrections reported that Monica Mudd entered the facility and was asked if she had any drugs or weapons on her person, to which she replied "no."
When she went through the body scan, objects were detected in her vagina.
When asked about the objects, Mudd told officers that it was just a tampon.
Officers took Mudd into the search room and asked her to remove the tampon, but Mudd then said that the objects detected were marijuana and two Xanax bars that she had forgotten were there.
Mudd removed the items and was then cleared through the body scan.
Mudd is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and promoting contraband.
