WINCHESTER, Ky. (AP) -- Police in central Kentucky say an elderly woman was stabbed and robbed and then held in her home for several hours.
Winchester police have charged 50-year-old Nancy Spencer in the Wednesday attack at the elderly woman's home. The victim made it to a neighbor's house with several stab wounds. The neighbor, Zachary Myers, told WLEX-TV in Lexington that a friend of the woman's assaulted her and took her prescription pills.
Myers says the woman had been bleeding for hours in her home and was too weak to get her back door open. She finally got out and made it across the street.
Police charged Spencer with robbery, assault and unlawful imprisonment.
WKYT-TV reports the victim, Susan Kemplin, was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover.
