(WHAS11) -- The Kentucky Supreme Court has overturned the conviction and death sentence of a man charged in a 2007 car crash in Lexington.
The high court found multiple errors in the case of 31-year-old Carlos Lamont Orway. He claimed self-defense in the deaths of 21-year-old Patrick Lewis and 25-year-old Rodriques Turner after a gun fight and car crash.
The supreme court ruled a juror was improperly seated and a detective testified about Orway's behavior and how it did not appear consistent with a self-defense claim.
Orway claims the men threatened to kill him for drugs.
