LAGRANGE, Ky. (News Release) -- A man is facing charges after Kentucky State police discovered large amounts of drugs and money during a routine traffic stop in Oldham County.
Arthur Penrod, 72, of Oklahoma was arrested in the early morning hours Saturday after troopers discovered a large amount of money and drugs during a traffic stop.
A traffic stop was made on Interstate 71 near the 24 mile marker in Oldham County. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of one ounce of cocaine, 20 pounds of marijuana, 4.2 ounces of marijuana seeds, and $11,570 in cash.
Penrod was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana and possession of a controlled substance first degree (Cocaine).
Mr. Penrod was transported and lodged at Oldham County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
