LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A woman is behind bars charged with trying to kill her father who is also a sheriff.
Kentucky State Police arrested 35-year-old Heather Hammond of Glencoe Thursday.
Heather is the daughter of Owen County Sheriff Zemer Hammond. She is accused trying to shoot her father.
Police said Heather pointed a loaded gun at the sheriff, but it jammed when she tried to fire the weapon.
She is charged with attempted murder and wanton endangerment.
The sheriff’s son is also in trouble with the law. Joshua Hammond is one of three men charged with murder after a man’s body was found dumped in Frankfort.
