LEITCHFIELD, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The search is on for an escaped inmate who made a teenager drive him from Leitchfield to Lexington.
Kentucky State Police say 22-year-old Joshua McDowell jumped a fence at the Grayson County Detention Center Friday afternoon.
He told an 18-year-old driver he needed a ride because his car broke down but once he was inside the car, he told the teen he was on the run and needed to go to Lexington.
The teen wasn't harmed but police are asking for your help. If you know where Joshua McDowell may be call police.
He was serving a three year sentence for burglary.
