LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Jury selection has begun in the trial of Thomas Schroeder, the the man who allegedly joined former University of Louisville Education Dean Robert Felner in stealing money from Universities.
Felner and Schroeder were charged with taking nearly $2 million in grants and contracts from the University of Rhode Island and more than $500,000 from U of L, and attempting to embezzle another $240,000 from U of L.
In January, Felner pleaded guilty to tax evasion and embezzlement. In May, he was sentenced to five years in prison, and ordered to repay $2 million in restitution.
