LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- It took a jury five hours to reach a verdict Tuesday night in the Kenneth Brown trial.
A jury found Brown guilty of murder, wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence, and trafficking in marijuana. Brown shot LaShawn “Sugar Shizz” Talbert an up and coming rapper in the head two years ago in Okolona.
Investigators say the motive involved drugs. Investigators also say Brown shot at a car and into a house near the murder scene. No one was struck by those bullets.
While the verdict was being read Brown looked at his family and then shook his head. Vickie Talbert says she was happy with the outcome of the trial but says it’s been tough living without her son.
Brown’s family was also in the courtroom but would not comment. Brown will be sentenced Wednesday at 10:30 am.
