(WHAS11) -- A Northern Kentucky judge has refused to throw out text messages in the child sex abuse case against a former teacher and Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader.
Sarah Jones is accused of having sex with a 17-year-old student while she was a teacher in Covington.
Her attorney had argued that a warrant shouldn't have been issued to get the text messages because the judge who issues it knew the victim.
This week, the Kenton circuit judge ruled the judge who approved the warrant was neutral and detached.
Jones' trial is set to begin next week.
