LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Jeffersonville High School assistant principal David Milburn has turned in his resignation after he was charged with shoplifting from a local Walmart.
Milburn was named the school's interim principal after the former principal, James Sexton was put on leave.
Milburn was put on leave when Greater Clark County School superintendent Andrew Melin found out about the theft charges at the Middletown Walmart, where Milburn also worked.
A district spokeswoman said that Milburn will accept early retirement in exchange for the district dropping its investigation into misconduct allegations.
The board will vote on this during its meeting Tuesday night.
