(WHAS11) -- A Jefferson County Public Schools teacher accused of raping a student is facing new charges after he appeared in court.

Scott Quisenberry pleaded not guilty to three counts of rape in front of a judge Monday. He is accused of raping a student while she was between the ages of 13 and 15.

Quisenberry is now facing a similar charge in Nelson County. Prosecutors said they believe all the charges involve a student he met while teaching at Bullitt Lick Middle School in Bullitt County.

Quisenberry most recently taught at Kerrick Elementary School and has been place on administrative leave.
