HILLVIEW, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The Hillview Police Chief was indicted by a Grand Jury Tuesday.
Glenn Caple, former Police Chief for the City of Hillview, Ky. is facing a Grand Jury charge of making false statements.
According to the police report, on January 4, 2012 Caple, along with other officers from the Hillview Police Department, was contacted by an elected official and asked to check the official’s residence.
When Caple and other officers arrived, officers discovered a bag containing a suspected mobile meth lab.
When Caple learned of the item, he reportedly told other officers to remove it and place it somewhere off the property. Another officer moved the backpack and placed it behind a fence away from the official’s property,police said
When special agents of the FBI investigated, Caple reportedly told them in an interview that the suspected lab had not been found on the official’s property.
Caple is facing a Grand Jury charge of making false statements.
If found guilty, Caple faces up to 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
