SPENCER COUNTY, Ind. (WHAS11) -- The third murder trial against former Indiana State Police Trooper David Camm was back in a Southern Indiana courtroom Wednesday.

Camm was not in court for the hearing in Spencer County, Ind. but attorneys filed motions regarding DNA evidence and both sides met with the judge to talk about the questionnaire for jurors.

The judge did give permission for the defense team to do its own DNA testing on a shirt worn by Camm the day his wife and children were killed.

Camm has been convicted twice for the September 2000 murders of his wife and two children in Georgetown, Ind. Both of those convictions were overturned on appeal.

Camm's third trial is set to begin in August in Boone County, Ind.
