LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A former University of Louisville basketball star and coach at Rock Creek Academy in Indiana is facing charges after police said they pulled him over for careless driving.

Manuel Forrest was arrested last Wednesday after a traffic stop in the Smoketown Neighborhood.  Police said 50-year-old Forrest was weaving in and out of traffic without signaling and that's when he was stopped.

According to the police report, Forrest was asked by officers if he had anything illegal on him during the stop and he said "no," and he gave officers consent to search his vehicle. Upon searching the car, officers said they found a small baggie containing what appeared to be crack cocaine in a cup holder and a bag of marijuana under the driver's seat.

Forrest is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and reckless driving.
