LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A competency hearing for a woman charged with murder whose case is making national headlines was held on Friday.
Bobbie Jo Clary said she killed George Murphy in self-defense after he raped her in 2011.
Her same-sex partner holds key information in the case and is refusing to testify against her.
Geneva Case said she and Clary obtained a same-sex union in Vermont.
The union is not seen as valid in Kentucky.
Clary is facing the death penalty in this murder case.
