JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- A woman who was supposed to care for children at a Jeffersonville boys home is facing criminal charges after police said she had sex with a 14-year-old boy and tried to give him money to keep it quiet.
The school resource officer at Jeffersonville High School alerted police about the alleged relationship.
Apparently, the victim asked the officer about laws pertaining to adults having sex with minors and when the officer probed further the teen told him about the alleged sexual relationship with an employee of Childplace, 27-year-old Megan Ralston. The officer also said he saw the student with a large amount of money. The victim said it all ended with the employee giving him money in exchange for a letter she wrote him.
The home released this statement Wednesday:
"Childplace has cooperated fully with all law enforcement and government officials and will continue to do so in order to ensure that a complete investigation takes place."
