NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A Chicago man has been arrested after Kentucky authorities say he was trafficking drugs into Jessamine County.
Police say they received a tip about large quantities of heroin being transported to Jessamine County.
Police conducted a search of 60-year-old Mahmoud Alkhazalah and found 13.76 ounces of heroin and more than $2,000 in cash. The street value of the heroin was worth $78,000.
Alkhazalah is being held in the Jessamine County Jail and is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree.
Police say the investigation in ongoing.
